The Chair of Lighting Technology carries out research in areas involving outdoor lighting, indoor lighting and daylight. Physiological questions, such as the nonvisual effects of light, continue to be investigated. Besides research in general causal relations, increases in efficiency, safety, and visual and nonvisual comfort are sought.

Within the scope of the diverse research projects, models are created, lighting concepts are designed, quality criteria are devised and measurement technology is developed.
